Years ago, around Thanksgiving, my beloved uncle had a serious craving for a cold crab salad. He turned to his niece—one of the cooks of the family—and asked if I could whip one up. Of course, I said yes. I had never made a crab salad before, but hey, I can make anything… right?
I pulled together what I thought went into a crab salad. And like most store-bought versions, the main ingredient I used was imitation crab—KRAB. My family enjoyed it, but I wasn’t satisfied. All I could think was, “There has got to be a better way.” That was the moment I became determined to create something real—something bold, flavorful, and made with actual lump crab.
I remembered my time living in New Jersey, going crabbing with my brother. He introduced me to blue crabs—sweet, tender, and an unforgettable taste.
That was my “Aha!” moment.
I went back to the kitchen and started experimenting—testing real ingredients, real flavors, and real crab. Eventually, I cracked the code. That’s when Holy Crab was born.
